  1. Raw material preparation: The main raw material of polyester staple fiber is polyester chips, usually polyethylene terephthalate (PET) chips. The polyester chips are dried to remove moisture and impurities.
  2. Melt spinning: The dried polyester chips are heated to a molten state, and the molten polyester is extruded into filaments through a spinning machine. The spinning machine usually uses a screw extruder to heat and extrude the polyester chips through the spinneret holes to form filaments.
  3. Cooling and solidification: The extruded filaments are cooled by air or water to solidify them into fibers. The cooling method can be side air cooling or water bath cooling.
  4. Oiling: A layer of oil is applied to the fiber surface to increase the softness, lubricity and antistatic properties of the fiber.
Stretching: The solidified fiber is stretched to increase the strength and elasticity of the fiber. Stretching can be carried out in multiple stages, usually by combining hot stretching and cold stretching.
  5. Curling: The stretched fiber is curled to increase the fluffiness and softness of the fiber. Curling can be done by mechanical curling or chemical curling.
  6. Cutting: Cut the curled fibers into short fibers according to a certain length. Cutting can be done by rotary knife cutting or laser cutting.
  7. Packing: Pack the cut short fibers for storage and transportation.
