Against the backdrop of low processing costs, PTA has experienced a production loss throughout the industry, resulting in an increase in PTA production reduction and maintenance.
Recently, there have been 5.35 million tons of PTA units undergoing maintenance or load reduction, and the operating rate remains around 83.13%. From the maintenance plan for the fourth quarter, the planned maintenance capacity is 5.5 million tons, and there are approximately 6.65 million tons of units that have not been repaired in a year. Considering the coexistence of device maintenance and restart, PTA operation will still maintain a level of 80-83%.
At present, there are not many maintenance plans for PTA devices. Considering factors such as PX, PTA inventory, and PTA processing costs, it is estimated that unplanned maintenance will increase. The average monthly PTA production rate from September to November is approximately 5.5 million to 5.7 million tons. However, regardless of the expected scenario, the trend of PTA oversupply remains unchanged, which is not conducive to a rebound in PTA processing costs.
