According to IRNA, Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, posted on the social media platform X on the 20th that Iran has presented the United States with seven conditions for initiating negotiations, but did not specify what those conditions were.
The previous day, Rezaei told Al Jazeera that consultations with mediators from Qatar and Pakistan were underway, and that he had conveyed the conditions for resuming negotiations to the mediators from both countries. Rezaei also listed conditions for ending the US-Iran war and stated that he was awaiting a response from the United States. Reportedly, Iran's latest conditions include: ending fighting on all fronts, especially the fighting in Lebanon; unfreezing frozen Iranian assets; ending the naval blockade of Iranian ports; the United States ceasing interference in Iran's internal affairs; the United States ceasing cooperation with Iran's opponents; and the United States ceasing all attacks on Iranian territory. Rezaei emphasized, "Accepting our terms for ending the war is in Washington's interest; Trump's threats will have no effect. We are ready for a decisive battle."
According to Axios, Trump stated on the 17th that he would make a "major decision" on whether to resume large-scale strikes against Iran. According to Pakistan's The Nation on the 20th, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bagae stated that Pakistani Interior Minister Naqvi would visit Tehran that day, but there was no information indicating that Naqvi would convey any message or proposal to the United States.
