PTA, What Happened

  From a fundamental perspective, with the recent repair of poor PTA processing, the enthusiasm for PTA plant operation has increased. In addition to delayed maintenance of the equipment, some devices have intentions to restart or increase negative, and the low PTA operating rate has gradually rebounded.
  It is reported that a 2.2 million ton PTA plant in East China has been restarted and will be shut down for maintenance in early November; A new 2.5 million ton facility in South China, one of which is a 1.25 million ton production line, has produced qualified products.
From January to October 2023, the domestic PTA production was 52.5 million tons, an increase of 15.54% year-on-year. PTA processing has improved, and some maintenance plans may be delayed. In the near future, maintenance equipment will gradually recover, and it is expected that the operating load will rise to above 80%. Supply and demand are abundant. With the recent reduction of foreign investment orders, PTA is expected to return to a volatile trend.
