Polyester is a synthetic fiber with high strength, high modulus, and low water absorption, making it widely used in both civilian and industrial fabrics. As a textile material, polyester short fibers can be spun purely or blended with other fibers. It can be blended with natural fibers such as cotton, linen, and wool, as well as other chemical short fibers such as viscose, acetate, polyacrylonitrile, etc. The spun fabrics resembling cotton, wool, and linen usually retain the excellent characteristics of polyester, such as wrinkle resistance, dimensional stability, wear resistance, and no deformation after washing. By blending hydrophilic fibers, some of the original shortcomings of polyester can be alleviated and improved to a certain extent, such as reducing static electricity, improving dyeing performance, and enhancing breathability.
Polyester twisted filament (DTY) is mainly used for weaving silk like fabrics, and can also be interwoven with natural fibers or chemical short fiber yarns, and even with silk or other chemical fiber filaments. This interwoven fabric retains a series of advantages of polyester and has the characteristics of high fluffiness, large curliness, strong woolen sensation, and softness. It is suitable for making suit fabrics such as woolen woolen and serge, outerwear, outerwear, and various decorative fabrics such as curtains, tablecloths, sofa fabrics, etc.
Polyester air textured yarn (ATY) and network yarn have good adhesion and smoothness, making them suitable for direct use in water jet looms. They are particularly suitable for weaving simulated silk and thin fabrics, as well as for weaving medium to thick fabrics.
The application of polyester fiber in industry, agriculture, and new technology fields is becoming increasingly widespread, such as manufacturing cord, conveyor belt, rope, electrical insulation materials, etc. The high strength and initial modulus of polyester strong filament, as well as good heat resistance, fatigue resistance, and morphological stability, make it particularly suitable for spinning tire cord, which can reduce flat spots in tires.
Polyester fibers play an important role in various fields, providing diverse choices for our lives and production.
